MP4 is a container rather than a single codec. Final Cut Pro can import many MP4 files directly, but unsupported video codecs, variable frame rates, or unusual audio streams can still block import or produce unstable playback.
When direct import fails, create a ProRes MOV editing copy that matches the source resolution and frame rate. Test one clip for picture, audio, and sync before converting the complete batch.

Three-step workflow

Add the source
Open LosslessConverter and select Add Files. Add the MP4 files and select the files required for this workflow.
Create editing-ready media
Open Output Format, select the Editing group, and choose ProRes. Select Same as source to retain the source dimensions; choose HD 1080P or HD 720P only when the project deliberately uses that resolution.
Create the current output
Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, import the ProRes MOV files into Final Cut Pro and verify resolution, frame rate, picture, and audio before editing.
