Final Cut Pro works most predictably with editing media designed for a timeline. MKV, AVI, and WMV files can contain codecs or audio layouts that macOS can play but Final Cut Pro cannot import reliably.
Use the Final Cut Pro preset to create an editing-ready copy at the source dimensions or the resolution required by the project. This avoids relying on the original container and codec combination during import and timeline playback.

Three-step workflow

Add the source
Open LosslessConverter and select Add Files. Add the MKV, AVI, or WMV files and select the files required for this workflow.
Match Final Cut Pro
Open Output Format, select the Editing group, and choose Final Cut Pro. Select Same as source to retain the source dimensions, or choose HD 1080P or HD 720P to match the project resolution.
Create the current output
Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, import the converted files into Final Cut Pro and verify the project resolution, frame rate, picture, and audio.
