DVD and Blu-ray input & output
LosslessConverter reads supported home-recorded and commercial optical media on Windows and Mac, including physical discs and previously copied disc structures.
| DVD sources | DVD-Video discs, HD DVD discs, VIDEO_TS folders, and DVD ISO images |
|---|---|
| Blu-ray sources | Blu-ray discs, AVCHD, BDMV folders, BDAV folders, and Blu-ray ISO images |
| Supported protections | Region codes and common APS, CSS, ARccOS, CPRM, AACS, BD+, AACS Bus Encryption, and Cinavia protections, subject to source compatibility |
| Video / audio mode | MP4, MKV, MOV, MPG Lossless, MP3, AAC, M4A, and other supported format or device profiles |
| Disc-folder mode | Preserves the complete DVD or Blu-ray folder structure for storage on a hard drive or USB device |
| ISO mode | Creates a complete ISO image for a 1:1 archival backup |
| Quality | 1:1 lossless output with source resolution retained up to 4K; MPG Lossless is recommended for DVD and MKV lossless output for Blu-ray |
| Tracks & subtitles | Preserve all or selected audio tracks, chapters, and selectable subtitles; external audio and subtitle tracks are supported |
| Mac subtitle output | One hard-coded subtitle track per converted file |
| Conversion tools | Title/chapter selection, 2D-to-3D conversion, trim, crop, rotate, merge, effects, filters, watermarking, and external subtitle/audio import |
Optical-media decryption and copying must only be used with media you own or are authorized to process, and only where permitted by local law.
Acceleration
Supported hardware acceleration
LosslessConverter detects compatible CPU and GPU hardware and uses available acceleration for supported decoding, processing, and encoding tasks.
| Brand | Supported hardware |
|---|---|
| NVIDIA | GeForce GT 630 or newer |
| Intel | Intel HD Graphics 2000 or newer |
| AMD | Radeon HD 7700 series (VCE 1.0) or newer |
| Apple silicon | M1 or newer |
Actual acceleration depends on the selected codec, driver, operating system, and source media. You can still adjust codec, frame rate, resolution, aspect ratio, GOP, and related output settings when acceleration is available.
Compatibility
System requirements
| Windows | Microsoft Windows 7, 8/8.1, 10, 11, or later. 64-bit versions are supported. |
|---|---|
| macOS | macOS High Sierra 10.13 or later, including supported Intel Macs and Apple silicon M1, M2, M3, and newer families. |
| Processor | 1 GHz Intel or AMD processor minimum |
| Memory | 1 GB RAM minimum; 2 GB or more recommended |
| Installation space | 200 MB of free disk space; additional storage is required for disc images, folders, and converted media |

Windows AI toolkit
Requirements for AI tools
AI operations require more memory, disk space, and compute than normal conversion. Processing time also depends on source duration, file size, target resolution, and the selected model.
Available AI tools
- Super Resolution: increase video resolution by 2x, 3x, or 4x and process image detail.
- Frame Interpolation: raise 30/60 fps video to 120/240/480 fps with generated intermediate frames.
- Stabilization: reduce camera shake with CPU/GPU processing and OpenCL support.
Compatibility details
| Frame Interpolation | Compatible GPU with Vulkan 1.2.x or newer |
|---|---|
| Stabilization | CPU or GPU with OpenCL 2.0 support |
| Gen Detail / Real Smooth | DirectML with DirectX 12-capable Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA graphics; or TensorRT with CUDA 11.1+, NVIDIA driver 452.39+, and compute capability 6.1+ |
| Anime / Zyxt | Intel HD Graphics 2000+, NVIDIA GeForce GT 630+, or AMD Radeon HD 7700+ with Vulkan 1.2.x |
| Additional resources | 2 GB RAM minimum and 1 GB free disk space |
