Diagnose missing MTS audio in Premiere Pro

Premiere Pro can import many AVCHD recordings directly. Missing audio can result from an incomplete camera folder, an unsupported audio stream, damaged media, or cached conform files rather than the MTS extension itself.

Try the original card structure and a representative clip first. If the audio stream remains unavailable, create an editing copy with a supported video and audio combination, then verify channel layout, duration, picture, and sync before converting the batch.

Add the source

Load the MTS clips with missing audio in Premiere Pro

Choose Editing > Premiere/VEGAS > MPEG-2

Open Output Format, select the Editing group, choose Premiere/VEGAS, and select MPEG-2. Match the resolution and frame rate to the editing sequence.

Create the current output

Select Start All, then verify in Adobe Premiere Pro

Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, import the MPEG-2 files into Adobe Premiere Pro and verify that both picture and audio are available in the sequence.
