Preserve Panasonic GH3 high-frame-rate media

Try the original camera files in the current iMovie release before converting them. Compatibility depends on the recording container, codec, frame rate, and whether the complete camera structure is available.

When an editing copy is necessary, create ProRes at the source dimensions and retain 59.94 or 60 fps for a high-frame-rate project. Convert to a lower frame rate only when the timeline intentionally requires it, then inspect motion, picture, and audio sync.

Add the source

Load the Panasonic GH3 60p AVCHD clips

Open LosslessConverter and select Add Files. Add the Panasonic GH3 60p AVCHD clips and select the files required for this workflow.

Create editing-ready media

Choose Editing > ProRes

Open Output Format, select the Editing group, and choose ProRes. Select Same as source to retain the source dimensions; choose HD 1080P or HD 720P only when the project deliberately uses that resolution.

Create the current output

Select Start All, then verify in iMovie

Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, import the ProRes MOV files into iMovie and verify smooth motion, picture, and audio.
