How to transfer Blu‑ray movies to QuickTime on Mac

Prepare a Blu-ray title for QuickTime

QuickTime opens media files, not a physical Blu-ray movie structure. Select the authorized title, required audio, and subtitles on a computer with a readable Blu-ray drive, then create a supported MOV file.

Match the source frame rate and dimensions unless storage or playback limits require a change. A MOV extension alone does not guarantee compatibility; the codecs inside it must also be supported. Test picture, audio, subtitles, and sync in QuickTime before processing the complete disc.

Add the source

Load the Blu-ray disc

Open LosslessConverter and select Add Disc. Add the Blu-ray disc, then select the required title, audio, and subtitle tracks.

Create a QuickTime-compatible file

Choose Video > MOV

Open Output Format, select the Video group, and choose MOV. Start with Same as source for playback, or choose the HD profile that matches the source.

Create the current output

Select Start All, then verify in QuickTime

Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, open the MOV file in QuickTime and verify picture, aspect ratio, audio, subtitles, and sync.
