Prepare Blu-ray for Apple TV surround sound

Apple TV playback depends on the video container, audio codec, connection, television or receiver, and playback application. Select AC-3 5.1 only when that complete path supports it; otherwise include a compatible AAC track.

Create an H.264 MP4 compatibility copy from the authorized Blu-ray title, then verify channel mapping, dialogue, picture, subtitles, and sync on the intended Apple TV setup before processing another disc.

Select the title and tracks

Load the authorized Blu-ray source

Open LosslessConverter and select Add Disc. Choose the required title, audio language, and subtitle track before continuing.

Create Apple TV video

Choose Video > MP4

Open Output Format, select Video, and choose an H.264 MP4 profile supported by the target Apple TV model.

Match the audio path

Choose AC-3 and 5.1 channels when supported

Open the output settings and choose AC-3 with 5.1 channels only when the Apple TV, connection, receiver, and playback path support it. Use AAC when that path requires AAC instead.

Test the Apple TV setup

Select Start All, then verify the channel layout

Choose an output folder and select Start All. Add the file to the intended Apple TV library, then verify picture, dialogue, channel mapping, subtitles, and sync on the complete playback setup.
