Prepare Sony Handycam AVCHD for Mac editing

AVCHD is efficient camera media, but isolated MTS or M2TS clips and some recording modes can be awkward to import into current Apple editors. Keep the original card folders until the footage has been verified.

Create ProRes MOV editing copies for iMovie or Final Cut Pro. Match the recording resolution and frame rate so the files fit the project without an avoidable format conversion inside the editor.

Add the source

Load the Sony Handycam AVCHD clips

Open LosslessConverter and select Add Files. Add the Sony Handycam AVCHD clips and select the files required for this workflow.

Create editing-ready media

Choose Editing > ProRes

Open Output Format, select the Editing group, and choose ProRes. Select Same as source to retain the source dimensions; choose HD 1080P or HD 720P only when the project deliberately uses that resolution.

Create the current output

Select Start All, then verify in iMovie or Final Cut Pro

Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, import the ProRes MOV files into iMovie or Final Cut Pro and verify resolution, frame rate, picture, and audio.
