How to rip 3D Blu‑ray to 3D or 2D video

Before you begin

Confirm the disc source and playback goal.

Select the correct title, audio, and subtitle tracks, then match the output to the player, device, or archive workflow.

Understand the legacy 3D workflow

The original guide described red/cyan and red/green anaglyph output from a 3D Blu-ray. Those modes are not equivalent to preserving the original MVC 3D stream, frame-packed playback, or modern stereoscopic delivery.

Use this page only when the current application exposes the required 3D effect and the destination supports the chosen layout. Otherwise create a conventional 2D compatibility copy. Test left/right presentation, depth, picture, audio, subtitles, and sync on the intended display before processing another disc.

Load the 3D title

Load the authorized 3D Blu-ray

Open LosslessConverter and select Add Disc. Choose the 3D feature and the required audio and subtitle tracks.

Select a compatible container

Choose Video > MKV

Open Output Format, select Video, and choose an MKV profile supported by the destination.

Confirm the stereoscopic mode

Select the required 3D effect when available

If the current application exposes a supported 3D effect, select the layout required by the display. Otherwise create a conventional 2D copy. Do not describe an anaglyph effect as preservation of the original MVC stream.

Test the display path

Select Start All, then inspect the 3D presentation

Choose an output folder and select Start All. Verify left/right presentation, depth, picture, audio, subtitles, and sync on the intended display.
