How to back up a DVD with its original structure

Before you begin

Confirm the DVD title and intended output.

Check the disc structure, aspect ratio, audio, subtitles, and destination requirements before creating a copy.

Preserve the complete DVD structure

A structure-preserving backup keeps the DVD file system, titles, chapters, menus, audio, and subtitles together instead of re-encoding only the main feature. Choose a DVD folder or ISO when those navigation features matter.

Confirm that you are authorized to copy the source, select an output location with enough space, and keep the disc until the backup has been mounted or opened. Verify menus, title order, chapters, audio languages, subtitles, and playback from beginning to end.

Add the source

Load the DVD disc

Open LosslessConverter and select Add Disc. Add the DVD disc, then select the required title, audio, and subtitle tracks.

Preserve the DVD structure

Choose Lossless > ISO > DVD ISO

Open Output Format, select Lossless, open the ISO group, and choose DVD ISO. This mode preserves the DVD structure instead of converting the selected title to a portable video file.

Create the current output

Select Start All, then verify in the backup location

Choose an output folder and select Start All. When processing finishes, mount or open the folder or ISO and verify menus, titles, chapters, audio tracks, and subtitles.
